I was actually really impressed with Arctic Monkeys. And Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers is an excellent show.

But of course, The Verve in London was just mindblowing.

I remember going to see Van Halen's Monsters of rock in 1988. I was mainly there to see Metallica and they were good, but the suprise was the Scorpions who played fourth out of five bands. They came running onto the stage and tore it up for 90 minutes. By the time Van Halen came on you could tell that they didn't have a chance because the Scorpions had blown them and every other band on the bill away.

i've been positively surprised by many bands over the years, but none so much as finnish rock band viikate. they dress like the 50s, they groove like the 70s and they're totally unknown outside finland and would deserve to be checked out by everyone.

i've never seen the mars volta live, but i imagine it must be exhilarating. :)

Neo - I actually was thiking about seeing live but I thought the ticket prices were rather steep so I passed on it. Although I'm not a Springsteen fan I've seen him live around ten times because I work at a concert hall in Asbury Park NJ which he plays at often. He puts on a great show to say the least.

Layla - No reason to be ashamed, there's nothing wrong with Kenny Loggins.

Though Question but the key word here is SURPRISED. I was not surprised at the talent of U2, Bruce, Bowie or many others....but I was surprised when (don't laugh ok) I saw Loggins & Messina's reunion tour last year. They had the most KICK ASS BAND! The drummer, the keyboardist, the guitar player - man I don't know where they found them but I would have loved it even if Kenny and Jim weren't there to sing :)

Jeff - Wow, that's tough one to answer I've been to so many shows that narrowing it down is kind of tough.

I would say that the band Live impressed me with their live (no pun intended) show. Them and Springsteen, man now there's a great live show to catch.
