Since I'm much more cynical than I ought be, it should come to no surprise that I found this year, as I do with many others, to be pretty uninspiring. The Verve, Volta and Kaki King put out fairly solid albums, but by and large, nothing struck me as desert isle material. And surely you know how I despise REM and the Killers, so no soup for you! ;) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year bro.

Hatter - I can understand your dislike for both REM and The Killers, they kind of seem like the bands people either love or hate.

2008 wasn't anything special, instead more of the same. Not any better than 2007 and not any worse. There were a few bright moments, but nothing to die for.
