Wake Up!
If you haven't read my previous post than you probably weren't expecting any big news from Imagine Echoes, but some of you may be very pleased when you hear this extremely exciting and shocking news line. When I saw this headline in my African Studies class I nearly fell off my seat and was on the verge of running out of class before my professor could get in because I didn't think I could hold all my excitement in. I did indeed tough it out and made it through all of class if you would like to know. Alright alright, so I'm sure by this point you are biting your nails in anticipation of this Huge Headline. Well here it is: RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE IS BACK! Oh yes, one of the most important bands of the 90's which did so much for my generation and others. Rage opened the eyes of an ignorant youth and brought some of the most unknown but important issues to the forefront. I often regard them near the top of most influential and important bands in history, I normally get laughed at but I have my convictions, if you would like to see them you can click here: Why Stand on a Silent Platform? At this point I'm detracting from the great news, so back to the topic. So what is happening is Rage is coming to back to play for what may be just one more show which is at the Coachella festival in California. This was rumored, I in no way believed it was going to happen, and I've never been happier being wrong. The LA Times confirmed the rumor to be true and now we have to play the waiting game. While I'm so incredibly happy about the news I can't help but being a bit upset. When I first read the news I immediately said to myself I am going to be there, because when I think of bands which I want to see most live it is Pink Floyd at the one spot and Rage at the 2 spot. With this news pouring out into the public, I can't help but think of the possibilities... A world tour perhaps... Or even a new album!
Now lets put this event into context. What better time for Rage Against the Machine to come back and use their incredibly loud voice. With these highly volatile times in politics and America they are the perfect band to pour more fuel on the fire whether you believe that is a good thing or not. All I have to say is in the end, they better not just go onto the front of the stage at Coachella naked like they did at Lollapalooza and not play a thing in protest of anything...
Tomorrow or within the next few days expect to see another post about something which I thought of today... Does Rage come when the Democrats do?
