There Was a Top Prog Rock Countdown?
Back in around April I had a countdown of the greatest Progressive Rock bands of all time list. Unfortunately that list was quickly neglected after I had to study for finals and then faced the business of summer, it was neglected to the point where it was forgotten. After posting about "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" an extremely important album in the psychedelic genre which was critical in the roots of Prog it dawned upon me that I had abruptly stopped the coutndown at the number five band, and now being back at school and having more time on my hands I will re-continue the list. I was wondering what happened to this. You were in the middle of it when I first started reading. I even had my guess about the top 4.
Bob - I was pretty overwhelmed during finals for school so I sort of forgot all about it, but I should have the number four band posted by either tonight or tomorrow.
Any chance Caravan is going to make it onto the list? Something tells me, no, as I believe they'd already be on the list if they were to have made it.
I'm hoping to see Marillion and/or Spock's Beard somewhere on the list and fully expecting Yes to come in somewhere on there, although I personally prefer classic (in particular the Steve Hackett era) Genesis over just about everything Yes has recorded (with the lone exception of the Drama album).
Perplexio - I can't quite reveal the rest of the list yet but have to agree that Caravan is a fantastic band!
