I believe I've already named a post with that title but that is besides the point. For the past week or so I have been debating with myself of whether or not to continue writing on this blog. I feel somewhat like it's a waste to post just once a week because the one thing I truly care about is people actually reading what I write and I'm afraid if I post so little people will forget and at that point writing won't really mean anything (I'm not sure if that is selfish or not.) There have been a mixture of variables which equate to my lack of posting, things like a shortage of time and energy, also I have been running short on topics to write about. When I do actually write I feel like it's more of a job rather than something I want to do and that isn't what a blog is for (Especially if I'm not getting paid to do it.) I am going to continue to think about whether or not I want to continue writing on this blog, if I choose not to, I will almost definitely continue writing in the summer when I have more time on my hands but at this point it is completely up in the air. Ironically this is my 200th post, and I am hoping that it's not my last...

Jeff - Cgrats on the 200th post. I know where you're coming from. I felt the same way after my first 300 posts. It's draining to give so much energy and not feel like your getting anything back.
It's especially hard when you put so much into writing and not get the comments. I've spent hours writing some of my posts to only get a dozen or so comments, and I look around and see people that post a few lines getting 20 or 30 comments.
Its like wtf?
Maybe you just just need a break from it for awhile. That's the best advice I can offer.
Peace,
- Neo
Jeff Sweetie,
do NOT stop blogging. You were my first faithful reader and I would have quit a million times if it weren't for you. Just do it when you feel like it - if you feel obligated and it feels like a job, just wait till you are inspired.
This blog is too good to go by the wayside.
If you aren't getting any "hits" you just need to take the time to drop by some of your reader's blogs and say "hi". That will be all the reminder they need to go check out your place.
I hope your life balances out a bit
You should definitely continue blogging. You have a real passion for music, and it shows in every post. You put actual thought, emotion and logic into your writing, more than I can say about today's holier-than-thou Indie rock population.
I enjoy this blog and I'd hate to see it die. At the very least, keep it around for those times when you do feel like writing.
Neo - I know what ya mean, except I would be estatic to get a dozen comments haha. Sometimes I wonder why some people can write so little and things which are pretty meaningless and get a ton of comments, the only conclusion I can come to is that the thing is write about is more specialized and pointed at a direct topic which some people like and some people don't, it doesn't reach quite a broad audience as other blogs. Thanks for the advice.
Layla - Thanks, and I must say you are certainly my most faithful reader and the reason that I kept on going on when I first started is because you were always there to leave a comment. I think between your's and Russ' comments I might have to stay, lol.
Russ - Thank's a lot! I really love to write about music but at times I feel like there is just nothing left to write about and I don't want to force it. Between work and school I've just been exhausted when I do actually have free time so I'm unmotivated to write but I'm am going to take your advice and post when I wish.
Jeff - Not a problem, I just reconize, the same thing I went through. Try not to let it get you down and give up.
Peace,
- Neo
Keep writing and we will continue to be here.
Jeff, I hope you continue, but will certainly understand if you don't. My experience has been that many more people read without commenting than who take the time to post comments. So, do it for those who are silent but faithful {;>)
Dave
Jeff -- Definitely keep writing. I read your blog all the time, though I may not always leave a comment. Write once a week, once a day, whatever. The blog don't cost nuthin'. You are very informed on music and I like your writing.
Thank You All for your kind comments, this has certainly inspired me to continue writing!
Congrats on your 200th, which I missed at the time because of a very busy week. Keep up the good work!
