John Lennon: 26 Years
Today marks 26 years since Lennon was brutally taken away from the world. Continuing with tradition I will make my way out to Strawberry Fields (pending the weather), for those who would like to read my last visit there, here is a link My Day With John Lennon. Now, I would love to repeat myself and tell why I love Lennon so much but I have already made a post like that which basically captured everything, if you would like to read that it's here: Thank You John! It is amazing how one mans words were able to resonate and positively affect an entire generation. It only speaks to the importance of this man. Long Live John Lennon! In remembrance of this larger than life human being I would like to ask everyone where were they when they heard the news that Lennon died and what kind of reaction you had towards the news. Obliviously I am too young to actually tell a story in regards to this but considering I am too young it would be nice to hear how other people remember it.

Thanks, Jeff, I was counting on you to write about John today. My heart just couldn't handle it this year.
I know how you feel about him and I think you know he was/is equally special to me.
Big hug to you on this sad occasion.
Layla
Hey man, I was there on the 8'th. I froze my butt off after the sun went down, hoping to catch the first snow of the year over the Strawberry. Sat out there for like 4 and half hours, watching the clouds roll in at night, waiting for the snow that was promised to fall, and ultimately disappointed when the clouds kept breaking up. I kept looking west, on the eastern edge of the field, you could see the clouds 40 miles away in NJ over the scrapers on Park West, I thought that one of them would have the snow, so I kept waiting until I started to get frostbite. Left at 8 ' oclock, (shoulda waited till 9, for Jon), but I froze. Just found your blog from the Q1043 boys. BTW, the best album they ever made was The Final Cut. Unfortunately, I've held the blade, and I always have the nerve to make the final cut. Gonna be checkin your blog, just because the name is PERFECT. Thanks.
Layla - Very sad day indeed.
c 2 the k - It's always great going out there each year, it's just a fantastic atmosphere each and every year. By the way, was this blog actually mentioned on Q104.3?
Jeff -
I got it linked somehow from their website. Glad I found some people, it would seem we are the few. Still, disappointed about the no-snow on "The Field" that night. I can tell you alot of things about that date though...
