As Of This Moment...
I am compiling the newest countdown for The Top 10 Greatest Guitar Solos. I must say this is probably my hardest list to create but I will do my best to do so. I've narrowed the competition down to around twenty songs and am now going to listen to each song a few times to try to put them in order. If anyone has any predictions I would love to hear them! I should probably have the first song on by around Thursday or so. Like I said, this is a very tough list to order so it will take some time.

Jeff, when are you going to do the top 10 songs of all time?
I'm not sure about that. I have a feeling I would be way too biased when it comes to each song, but maybe one day I will do that. It seems really hard to do a list just on one song. I just might try that for my next list though.
My top Five would be 1.Imagine(John Lennon), 2.Like a Rolling Stone(Bob Dylan)3.In My Life(Beatles), 4.Smells Like Teen Spirit(Nirvana), 5.Blowin in the Wind(Bob Dylan)with U2 One and the Beatles Hey Jude just missing my top 5.
Yeah, I could probably compile my favorites but I'm not sure if I could compile the greatest songs. Maybe I will post my favorites later on today.
I do have some vague and general predictions:
I think you'll have at least one Jimmy Page solo-- I'd put my money on either Stairway or Kashmir.
And being that you're a Beatles fan, I'd put my money on George Harrison's solo in While My Guitar Gently Weeps falling somewhere on the list.
My list would probably look considerably different than your, although I wouldn't be surprised to see SOME overlap.
I'm HOPING, although I have a feeling it won't make the list (although if it doesn't I think it deserves an honorable mention) that Terry Kath's solo in Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4 will find its way somewhere onto your list.
